This gallery features shower pan repairs and installations using a Schluter Shower Pan system over a cement poured shower base.
CUSTOM SHOWER PANS-CEMENT POURED
Action Shower Pan & Steam Shower Company has 40 years of experience with the installation of various types of shower pans.
I'm not talking about the shower pan kit that comes with a pre-formed foam shower tray. We only install custom shower pans.
The shower pan size can be any dimension or shape. Because all of the shower pans that we install are cement poured to shower pan size.
This makes our service in very high demand because our shower pans do not leak.
This design also eliminates mold that can result from standing water that is left under the cement and tile that eventually leads to shower pan failure.
Steam Shower Installation
Steam showers need to be water tight and not allow moisture to get behind the walls. The shower pan is cement poured for Schluter pan to be installed.
Schluter Shower Pan Installer
The Schluter shower pan is flood tested to make sure there are no water leaks in the system. Schluter shower pans with cement base are 100% water tight
Porcelain Tile Shower Pan
The tile installed over the shower pan is a hexagon porcelain tile purchased at Floor & Decor.
Cement Poured Shower Pan
This shower pan has a Schluter in-line drain installed. The advantage to this type of shower drain allows for large format tiles to be installed.
Schluter Shower Pan
The Schluter shower pan is applied directly on top of the cement any and all water that penetrates through the grout joints are directed toward the shower drain eliminating standing water and mold.
Tiled Shower Pan
Large format porcelain tile can be installed to any size shower pan when using the Schluter in-line shower drain.
Marble Shower Pan Repair#1
This shower pan was leaking downstairs through the kitchen ceiling. It had been repaired but the repair lasted only about 6 months.
Marble Shower Pan Repair#2
It looked like the repair was made trying to be non-invasive. They opened up the kitchen ceiling below to get to the pan from underneath. I was a good try that didn't work.
Marble Shower Pan#3
Unfortunately by the time I am on the job the shower pan cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced.
Marble Shower Pan #4
The homeowners did a great job of locating a tile that would work. This master bathroom was tiled in hard to find marble and the homeowners came up with a really good solution. Big savings!!
Porcelain Shower Pan #1
This shower repair went about as smooth at it gets. The homeowners had left over wall tile which was neutral so that any tile would work for the shower pan. The existing tile was removed to the studs and substrate. New cement cement board is installed.
Porcelain Shower Pan #2
The new Schluter shower drain is installed and the cement is poured using dry pack cement that is sloped at 1/4" p/ft towards the drain.
Porcelain Shower Pan #3
The new shower pan is water tested before any tile is set on the pan. its better to be safe then sorry. The Schluter-Kerdi waterproofing membrane is top of the industry in dependability.
Porcelain Shower Pan #4
The porcelain penny tile ended up looking better then what was in before. Sorry no picture of what was there before.
Steam Shower Pan #1
This shower pan had been repaired twice before I was hired to take on this project. In these cases it's best just to get down to the studs and start all over from scratch.
Steam Shower Pan #2
We changed the shower drain and installed a new Schluter drain and installed cement board to the floor and walls. Cement was poured with dry pack and allowed to cure for at least 72 hours. The membrane is installed and the pan is tested making sure there are no leaks.
Steam Shower Pan #3
The steam shower wall tile is a white ceramic tile and there was no problem matching what was there. The shower pan tile is a natural stone basket weave pattern tile that finished the project off.
Travertine Shower Pan #1
The shower pan had been leaking downstairs and had been unused for some time. With these types of pans the weak area is around the drain.
Travertine Shower Pan #2
Schluter-Kerdi is always my #1 choice for a water tight no leak shower pan installation. The pan is filled with water and inspected for leaks.
Travertine Shower Pan #3
Locating the tile for this project wasn't a problem. The homeowner was able to find it on-line. The shower repair is undetected the tile matched 100%
