DENVER Curbless Shower-In Line Drain
Custom Shower Tile Installation-
Curbless Walk-in Shower Installer
The bathroom project featured on this page highlights a remodel in a 1938 Tudor home in Denver that added a walk-in shower that eliminates the shower curb and also features a Schluter linear drain that is tiled over thereby giving the appearance of an invisible shower drain.
We specialize in custom cement poured shower pans of any size and work with a variety of tiles available in today's market. In this case, the homeowner selected the porcelain floor tile that was laid in a herringbone pattern which continued into the walk-in shower.
The wall tile is a 12x24 porcelain tile that is made to look like natural stone, so there is no need for sealing and is low maintenance.
All the tile in this project was purchased from A WORLD OF TILE
We also will contract to install your shower pan only.
Tile installers for all types of projects including bathroom remodeling installation of heated floors and waterproof membranes for steam shower units.

Porcelain tile has become the go to tile for all shower-bathroom-kitchen and flooring projects we contract for. The practical applications for porcelain tile is endless as is the various finishes porcelain tile provides.

This shower tile installation is set in a straight course where the grout lines match up. The tile is laid out and numbered to help with lining up the pattern in the tiles.

The shower installation included a bench and custom made glass shower doors by Denver Glass Interiors

The shower pan is tile with a 3x8 porcelain tile that mimics slate and is set in a Herringbone pattern. The shower drain is invisible accomplished using a linear drain by Schluter.

The Schluter linear drain is centered along the back wall and set directly on the sub-floor. More Schluter membrane will be installed up the walls and cement floor to be poured.

Cement board is attached to the sub-floor and a slurry of thinset is applied to the cement board so that the cement will adhere

The cement poured is actually dumped and is called dry pack in the tile trade. Cement with less water added cures much stronger and is easier to manipulate for a flater more accurate floor that will drain 1/4" per foot to the drain.

Once the shower pan is floated to the drain the next step is to level the bathroom floor using self-leveler. Since there will be no shower curb used in this floor tile installation.

The result of using a tileable shower drain by Schluter and installing a no curb shower pan with glass set on top of the shower floor helps give the appearance of space in this small bathroom remodel

One of the many highlights working in the residential shower-bathroom-kitchen and flooring remodel projects is the people that we come in contact with while working on their jobsites.

The homeowners on this project really were a pleasure to work with and work for. I enjoyed the collaboration process and appreciated their input on the tile installation throughout the remodeling process.

All of the trades were easy to work along with and were professional in working together to keep to the schedule and flexible when circumstances presented themselves.

I wanted to include some pictures of the steps that were involved with during the installation to give you an idea of the process that will be applied for your project.

Curbless showers have become very popular for those of us who have aged a bit and for those who simply have a very limited space to work with.

CUSTOMER REVIEW FOR THIS PROJECT

★★★★★
We have worked with Tony on two remodel projects of older homes over the past two years, one for our son's home in Aurora, Co 80012 and for our own home in Athmar Park, Co 80219
He completely reworked an improperly installed shower pan and wall tile in our son's home and tiled around a fireplace.
In our home, a 1938-built Tudor house in Athmar Park, he did our kitchen floor and backsplash, a completely remade curbless shower with a linear drain that included a herringbone floor and ceramic tile on the wall, decorative tile around a gas insert fireplace and threshold, and the floor and wall tile on a remodeled guest bath in the lower level.
It would be an error to call him a "tile setter."
He's an artist and perfectionist with his work.
He provided outstanding consultation and suggestions on the color, size, and type of tile - and then very carefully thought about the placement of each tile, the match of tiles where they come together at a corner or floor junctions, and the type and color of grout.
He was a delight to work with, has a great sense of humor, but mainly he always did an outstanding job to the highest of standards.
His price was extremely reasonable for the excellent quality of his work. We recommend him highly.
Bathtub to Walk-in Shower Conversion
That's the most popular trend in the bathroom remodeling business today. Bathtubs are being removed and replaced with walk-in showers.
Adding to this trend are steam shower installation projects.

Clients are removing their soaking or jetted tubs for enlarged steam showers to unwind and relax.
